Counselling for Individuals
Some of the therapies I offer are...
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
centres on the belief that our thoughts are influenced by how we feel. The CBT approach is based on the belief that learning comes from personal experiences. Counselling would focus on your ability to accept behaviour, clarify problems and difficulties, and understand the reasoning behind the importance of setting goals. By changing the way you think and behave, you can learn to stop cycles of negative thinking.
Humanistic Counselling
Humanistic Counselling
provides the opportunity to explore creativity, personal growth and self-development, as well as acknowledging a variety of choices. The foundations would provide you with a deeper understanding of who you are, what you feel and the opportunity to explore the possibility of creating personal choices, thus encouraging self-awareness and self-realisation. This type of therapy concentrates on the here and now, encouraging you to think in present time.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy
would help you to understand the root cause of your problems and issues, providing the tools required to make progress. It works by understanding that most emotional problems originate in childhood, and that all experiences will have some kind of subsequent subconscious effect. Through supportive counselling, I can help you to identify subconscious thoughts and to understand how these thoughts may affect subsequent behaviours.
Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional Analysis (TA)
is based around self-development and personal growth, providing a connection between your past and how this influences present decisions and choices. TA acknowledges the three ego states that run through every relationship a person has with others: Parent, Adult and Child.
